Farm & Commercial Energy review

A load-based energy review for farms, rural businesses, and commercial facilities — designed to show what solar can and can’t do before you make a decision.

DURATION: 45-60 minutes

What we will cover

  • We'll review 12 months of your electric bills to identify where your energy dollars are going, seasonal patterns (harvest spikes, consistent loads, peak demand), and opportunities for maximum savings.

  • We'll evaluate your operation's energy needs:

        •    Dairy: Milking equipment, milk cooling, ventilation, hot water

        •    Grain: Dryers, handling systems, aeration, storage facilities

        •    Livestock: Climate control, ventilation, feed systems

        •    Irrigation: Pump loads, seasonal requirements

    • Shops & Commercial Facilities: Welders, compressors, HVAC, lighting, and production equipmenWe'll identify which systems need battery backup protection during outages.

  • We'll assess your property for solar potential: roof conditions (age, material, orientation), ground-mount options (available land, access), shading analysis, and electrical infrastructure review.

  • You'll receive a preliminary design showing recommended system size (kW), equipment specifications (REC panels, Sol-Ark inverters, EG4 batteries), expected annual energy production, and percentage of your energy bill we can offset (typically 60-95%).

  • We'll show you the real numbers:

    Example: 100kW Dairy Farm System

    Gross Investment: $238,000

Less Federal Tax Credit (30%): -$71,400

Less USDA REAP Grant (25%): -$59,500

    Less American-Made Bonus (10%): -$23,800

    YOUR NET COST: $101,150

    Annual Savings: $18,500

    Simple Payback: 5.5 years

    25-Year Total Savings: $462,500

You'll see all federal incentives applied (up to 65%), annual energy production and savings, payback period and 25-year ROI, and financing options with monthly payment vs. savings comparison.

  • We'll explain how the REAP grant program works, your eligibility and expected grant amount, application timeline and process, and how we handle the entire application for you.

  • We'll recommend battery capacity for your critical loads, hours of backup power for essential operations, cost difference between solar-only vs. solar + battery, and protection for milk cooling, grain handling, climate control, etc.

  • You'll understand what happens if you decide to move forward, a realistic installation timeline (typically 6-8 weeks), how we handle permits, utility coordination, and installation—with no pressure, just a clear path forward.

Choose Your Audit Format:

Option 1: On-Farm/Business Visit (Preferred)

We come to you for hands-on assessment, take measurements and photos, walk the property together for the most accurate and comprehensive evaluation. Best for farms and businesses within our 8-county service area, larger projects, and complex installations.

Option 2: Virtual Audit (Zoom/Phone)

Screen-share financial analysis and review satellite imagery of your property. Still highly effective and detailed. Best for initial consultations, farms and businesses outside immediate area, and busy schedules.
